How to Play Art Snobs

Transform your friends into pretentious art critics in 5 easy steps. Bad art has never been so sophisticated.

Players

4-8 artists

Time

30-45 minutes

Ages

17+

1

Draw Your Character

Each player draws a Character Card. This is who you'll embody for the round - from a Cattle Rancher to a Window Washer. Get into character!

PRO TIP: The more ridiculous your character interpretation, the better!

2

Get Your Art Prompt

Draw an Art Card that tells you what to create. It might be 'Self Portrait as a Garden Gnome' or 'The Meaning of Tuesday'. You have 2 minutes to create your masterpiece.

PRO TIP: Remember: Bad art makes the best critiques!

3

Draw Your Phrase Cards

Each player draws 2 Phrase Cards. These contain pretentious art-speak you must sneak into your critique, like 'juxtaposition of chaos' or 'explores the duality of existence'.

PRO TIP: Keep a straight face - getting caught means losing points!

4

Present & Critique

Take turns presenting your art to the group. Other players critique your work in character, sneaking in their phrase cards. If you catch someone using a phrase, call them out!

PRO TIP: Ham it up! The more pretentious, the better.

5

Vote & Score

After each presentation, players vote for their favorite critique using Kudos tokens. Successfully used phrases earn Snobbies (points). Most Snobbies wins!

PRO TIP: Strategic voting can swing the game!
